Some people may think that GRAHPIC DESIGN is all about how something looks, but in this article, Michael Bierut talks about how you need to know what what your doing the design about to be able to do it well. Sparked by anger that fellow designers article about something not totally graphics on the same site got bad comments, Bierut tells fellow graphic designers about how he doesn't like the current thinkings of "design," and you need to know about something to do a proper design on it. You cannot live in a world of just DESIGN all the time, you have to take some time off to just ENJOY what your doing the design for or about.

Becca,
The questions regarding copyright are well crafted. Nice job.
Concerning the Bierut article I think your summary is clear and to the point. I would like you to do a little more research on the authors and share that when we do these reflections. It's equally important for you to know who is that is writing along with what they are writing about.

Since I liked all of your work in Graphics 1 I'm really looking forward to seeing your projects this semester and watching you continue to develop as a designer. You're off to a great start... oh yeah...and smile once in awhile.
